Summary

The reality is, many of us often feel like we are dealing with more than we can handle. Thus, saying this common cliche phrase to ourselves or to those facing difficulties is not always the most helpful. But perhaps a fuller truth we can proclaim over ourselves or others is: There may be times when we will be given more than we can handle, but there will never be a time when we are given more than God can handle. As Adam Hamilton puts beautifully: It's not that God won't give us more than we can handle, but that God will help us handle all that we are given.
